Kathleen S. Commander
Kathleen S. Commander has focused her practice on defending clients in all phases of litigation in matters involving medical malpractice, construction accidents (NYS Labor Law), premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents. She has represented major metropolitan hospitals in medical malpractice cases as well as in mental hygiene matters, utility companies in multi-million dollar subrogation matters, and municipalities in false arrest/imprisonment and excessive force cases.
Ms. Commander’s expertise is in the successful resolution of cases for her clients, whether it be through obtaining summary judgment on motion practice, the use of aggressive settlement negotiation skills during mediations or in the course of trying cases before a jury. She has successfully tried many cases for her clients in all New York City boroughs as well as in Suffolk and Nassau Counties.
She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College in 1993 and her Juris Doctorate degree from Widener University School of Law in 1997 where she achieved the position of Editor of the school’s Law Review. In addition to being admitted to practice law in the State of New York, she is also admitted in the US District Courts in both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
