Mr. Rizzo had previously served as an Executive Vice President and Acting General Counsel to a major medical institution overseeing quality and risk management, labor, policies, procurement as well as various departments. He also served on the Executive Committee for the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program.

Mr. Rizzo handles a variety of high-exposure matters in medical malpractice, all areas of municipal employment, labor and automotive litigation through trial. He has extensive experience in health care regulatory matters. Mr. Rizzo also handles certain aspects of the firm’s plaintiff’s personal-injury practice. He has taken successful trial verdicts in every downstate venue of the Second Department.

Mr. Rizzo has served as a member of the board of directors of a Public Benefit Corporation and is a founding member of the philanthropic arm of the that Corporation. He was appointed to the Nassau Health Care Corporation board of directors by the governor upon recommendation of the minority leader of the Nassau County legislature and was shortly thereafter appointed by the Nassau County Executive to Chairman of the Board in May of 2010. He is a founding advisory board member of the Feinstein Medical Research Institute. He also served on the advisory board of a small hospital. Mr. Rizzo also previously served as a Legislative Aide to New York State Senator Kemp Hannon in his capacity as the Chairman of the NYS Senate Healthcare Committee.

In 2010, Mr. Rizzo was appointed as a commissioner on the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission. He is a member of The Long Island Business Council, former honorary Vice Chairman of Toys for Tots and a former delegate to the Nassau/Suffolk Judicial Nominating Committee.

In 2012 Mr. Rizzo was the recipient of the United Hospital Fund’s Distinguished Trustee award, presented at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, for his service as Chairman of the Board of Nassau Health Care Corporation. Moreover, Mr. Rizzo was honored by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin which consists of over 11,000 physicians nationwide for his work in health care and community service.

In March 2013 Mr. Rizzo was appointed to the Board of Governors of the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.

Mr. Rizzo is also a board member of the Fair Media Council which, among other things, advocates for quality local news and public information.

Mr. Rizzo is a frequent lecturer and has given speeches and presentations to many major medical centers/health systems. He obtained his law degree from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in New York. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
