John D. Katz

John comes to the firm with over twenty years of litigation experience. For nearly a decade and a half, he has specialized in defending civil liability matters, practicing in areas including medical malpractice, dental malpractice, labor law and general liability, as well as professional liability areas including legal malpractice and insurance broker malpractice. His practice areas have also included podiatric and physical therapist malpractice, along with premises liability, products liability defense and general liability appellate practice. He also has extensive experience defending professionals in disciplinary matters before OPMC, OPD and various professional boards throughout New York State.

Following graduation from the Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1996, John successfully prosecuted dozens of jury trials at both misdemeanor as well as felony levels while an ADA with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office from 1996 to 2001. Since joining the civil litigation field, John also has a number of general liability as well as medical/dental defense jury verdicts to his credit.

Bar & Court Admissions – Admitted to practice in New York State, and in the United States District Courts for the Southern as well as the Eastern Districts of New York. Professional affiliations include the New York State Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association and the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.
